From chemists and clinical specialists to bioinformatics and biomedical engineering, students enrolled in RIT's Executive MBA with Life Sciences Electives get to connect their professional interests and entrepreneurial principles from start to finish.
Dr. Richard DeMartino, Director of the Albert J. Simone Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at RIT, brings his extensive expertise and network to students, featuring innovators in the Life Sciences space, fostering discussion and sharing ways to supporting product development efforts in a unique industry. As Janssen Associate Scientist, and current student, Karley Bussow said, “As I learn more, I see how (entrepreneur principles) play a role in existing companies and product development."
The program includes a trip to New York City to engage with leaders of Life Science companies and the option for students to sponsor their own capstone start-up with support from the RIT Simone Center or RIT Venture Creations business incubator.
Karley Bussow, an Associate Scientist at Janssen and current student, selected this program for the applied nature. “My career has been progressing along the drug development life cycle, from discovery to clinical development and ideally in the future, commercialization. Through this experience, I am gaining an end-to-end perspective of the process within this industry.”
